Or walk into town and stop at Coffee Greeks for a morning Greek experience. If you need a large grocery shop, drive across the river to HEB to meet all your grocery needs.

There are plenty of places downtown for a sumptuous breakfast: Maxine’s for a down-home breakfast, farm-to-table cooking at Storehouse, Anita’s for Tex-Mex breakfast, or Radiant Juice Bar, to name a few. The above serve lunch, along with Billy Pit Bar BQ, Grace Miller, and so many other fun establishments downtown for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Dining

Visit Storehouse for one of the best dining experiences in Bastrop. Sit outside and enjoy its farm-to-table fare with Texas Blue Shrimp, Spicy Texas Quail, Tomahawk pork chops, or Fried Oysters. Their specialty drinks are a must. If you like Italian food, Numero 28 recently opened and features exquisite, homemade Italian fare. Above the River Walk is Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard for excellent pizza and local music. Piney Creek Chop House is another fantastic choice for great steaks and seafood.

Just Opened

A warm welcome to downtown Bastrop’s newest addition, Casa Pan Bakery. With her inspired blend of Mexican and French traditions, owner Judith Equihua creates baked goods that delight all the senses.

On our first visit, we sampled a crunchy concha, buttery croissants, and a beautifully flaky Napoleon. We returned two days later for a capirotada and a sourdough loaf that melted in our mouths.

Next door, Judith’s CAFF Coffee & Kitchen serves breakfast and lunch and shares a comfortable, shaded patio—an inviting spot to slow down and savor life’s simple pleasures.
